On 24-25/8/2022, GNI gave 13,259 books including textbooks, reference books, and novels for 05 kindergartens, a primary and secondary school in 03 communes Ban Ria, Bang Lang, and Yen Thanh, Quang Binh District, Ha Giang Province. This is an outcome of the campaign “Book donation for children” launched by GNI from 06/7/2022 to 08/8/2022.
After launching the campaign “Book donation for children”, GNI has received books donated by 227 sponsors with a total of 8,197 books including textbooks, reference books, notebooks, and novels, as well as 149 office supply items such as pencil cases, pencil, backpack and 90,640,000 VND in cash – this amount was then spent by GNI to purchase more than 5,000 new books.
“At Ban Ria Ethnic Boarding Primary & Secondary school, there are lots of students who face difficulties, whose parents have to work far away or live in a single-parent household, thus they do not care and paid attention regularly by families. In addition, existing textbooks at the library are from old educational programs. As a result, before beginning the new school year, many do have not enough textbooks and office supplies. Therefore, when receiving books donated by GNI and donors, teachers and students are so happy. On behalf of the school governing board, I would like to thank GNI and the donor. Those books will not only motivate and encourage students to go to school but also help them open up the door of knowledge, and equip them to better prepare for the future” – Ms. Hoang Thi Xuyen, principal of Ban Ria Ethnic Boarding Primary & Secondary school shared.
With a wide range of books and materials given, GNI and donors hope to contribute to relieving difficulties for children and promote Reading enrichment activities at school and opportunities for students to access better education.
Each given book is a hope which is sowed, thus opening up the knowledge door to a better future. GNI would like to thank the donor/sponsor for joining hands with GNI to support the dream of children in Quang Binh District, Ha Giang Province.
